Congratulations on winning the league :) Although will Milan having their points deficit reduced to 8, it’s going to be more difficult for Inter to retain the title. I’m surprised they haven’t bought any Juve players, Zambrotta would have been a great transfer.
Thanks :). Milan got away with murder and it was a bit of a scandal, not to mention Juve. All in all, Moratti’s honesty and commitment paid back indeed and there’s nothing dishonourable with this league, even though Milan and Juve supporters will be complaining and teasing for quite a while… Juve wouldn’t sell their players easily after all, a number of them just want to stay there. We got Vieira, but I agree that Zambra would have been the best to get. We’ll see…

You should delete one of my comments, I accidentally re-posted! Has the Vieira transfer been confirmed? There hasn’t been any news of that on the English football websites. I know Moratti has said Inter will try to sign either Toni or Ibrahimovic, how’s that coming along? I think Toni is a better choice, Ibrahimovic hasn’t been scoring much and you guys already have Adriano.
Does Moratti have a good reputation in Italy? I know many of the club bosses are well known for engaging in football corruption. Berlusconi did, however, make a good point. He said with Milan’s and his position, would they have finished second if they really wanted to cheat? Haha.
You’ve upgraded to Gravatars2? I’m not sure why it’s not showing up, maybe you should restart the plugin, clear the cache or follow the instructions for cron configuration to clear them automatically. I used the second method, couldn’t be bothered with all the hassle of the first.
Actually, I’m not sure about Vieira, but I’ve read that they were very close to acquire him, which I think equals having closed the deal, even though not on a formal level. I think the choice between Toni and Ibra is still on hold, but this might not be up to the minute. I think Della Valle (Toni’s club owner) wouldn’t let him quit to say the least, and the mild charge to Fiorentina for the next league may make a difference about it. Will be following this more closely.
Of course Toni would better fit the team and is by far preferable also on account of the world cup feats, meaning he’s obviously going to cost a lot. Moratti has always been considered a true gentleman even in Italy, nobody has had the nerve or chance to criticise him. Of course Milan and Juve supporters and managers have always shown little respect to his reputation, as he’s hardly won anything. But Inter have a strange situation as you may know: Moratti has formally left the club’s presidency to Giacinto Facchetti even though he’s still the owner and probably keeps the real clout. Facchetti has a more pratical attitude and may be anything but a saint as well as likely to have left room to compromise at times, as all bosses of A league Italian clubs are.
But as I was saying elsewhere, we just can’t strike bosses of all Italian parishes’ football teams…

Just like Berlusconi leaves the dirty work to Galliani! I think it’s wiser, it means the owners don’t get sucked in when there’s a scandal. As for gravatars, I wish everyone would register for one. Most of the comments on my side have the default gravatar :(

Patrick Vieira ha deciso di ufficializzare il passaggio all’Inter dopo aver escluso in extremis il trasferimento al Manchester United: si troverebbe ora presso la sede milanese dei nerazzurri in attesa delle consuete visite mediche dopo la firma già avvenuta.
Pare profilarsi la possibilità di un trasferimento di Ibrahimovich al Milan, metre David Trézeguet rimarrebbe alla Juventus. Corriere.it

And I just came over to mention that English football news has mentioned Vieira may sign for Manchester United. Haha, obviously Italian newspapers have a greater insight into the situation.
I think the latter. According to Corriere della Sera (see above link), he has signed today for Inter :) (notice the fading command of grammar as soon as topics get affected by anything involving Inter…). But it’s obviously useful to be aware of a different version of the story.
